Why Most Visitors Never See the Real Flores

The 9-kilometer jungle trek to reach Wae Rebo takes 3 to 4 hours through dense forest, crossing streams and climbing through cloud forest. Wae Rebo requires advance booking and is best combined with a Labuan Bajo tour as part of a wider Flores itinerary.
Cunca Wulang and Cunca Rami Waterfalls
Just 30 kilometers from Labuan Bajo, the Cunca Wulang and Cunca Rami waterfalls in the Manggarai highlands offer an easy half-day excursion for visitors looking to experience the island interior. Both waterfalls feed natural swimming pools — perfect for a refreshing swim after the forest hike — and the surrounding jungle is rich with birds, butterflies, and tropical vegetation.
